Heart disease

Heart disease, also known as cardiovascular disease, is the leading cause of death in the United States. It encompasses a wide range of conditions that affect the heart and blood vessels, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, and stroke. These conditions are often caused by a combination of factors, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, and diabetes.

Cancer

Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States. There are many different types of cancer, with the most common types being lung, breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer. Risk factors for cancer include smoking, exposure to certain chemicals and substances, certain viral infections, and a family history of the disease.

Diabetes

Diabetes is a chronic condition that affects the way the body processes sugar (glucose). There are two main types of diabetes, Type 1 and Type 2. Type 1 diabetes, which is an autoimmune disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. Type 2 diabetes, is more common and occurs when the body becomes resistant to insulin or doesn’t make enough insulin. Diabetes is a leading cause of heart disease, kidney failure, blindness, and amputations of the lower limbs.

Preventative measures and early detection are the key to reduce the effect of these disease on the population. This includes healthy eating and regular physical activity to maintain healthy body weight, not smoking and avoiding exposure to tobacco smoke, and regular medical checkups for early detection and management.

Balanced meals consisting of lean protein, unprocessed carbs, healthy fats, and vegetables can prevent this 3 diseases. Combine this with strength and cardiovascular training, you have tremendously decrease your chances of having one of these diseases.
