This week’s Client Spotlight Saturday is Amanda Russ! She has been training with us for over 3 years. She is a mother of 5 girls and with her last 2 daughters she trained up until their due dates. She even brought her 2 month old with her at a 5am session. As you could guess, she is very dedicated to living a healthy life and being the example for her daughters. Let Amanda’s story inspire you!

“I’ve always enjoyed working out and fitness, but I think one of the hardest parts for me is being self-motivated. Especially as a mom of 5 young daughters it is always easy to put someone else’s needs ahead of my own, or find something else to spend my time on. Being a member at HEALTH3 where I have signed up for a specific session at a certain time holds me accountable to make it happen and makes it a priority in my day! 

I have appreciated being part of a gym where every day I walk in and the coaches and other members are smiling and encouraging. Everyone pushes each other to work hard, and cheers each other on! I know that I work harder when there are people around me pushing  their limits. Sometimes a little healthy competition is a great motivator!

Putting in the work at the gym has not only provided me with physical changes; when I put in the effort to get in a workout, it also motivates me to make better choices throughout my day: better nutrition, more water, better prioritization of my time and energy! 

Being my best self physically, gives me the energy to wake up every day, and keep up with my kids and their busy schedules! What keeps me coming back is accountability. Knowing that I put it in my schedule holds me accountable to get it done. Also, other members hold each other accountable.

I was able to work out consistently at HEALTH3 through my entire 9 months of pregnancy, and I had far more energy and felt better all around than I had in any of my prior pregnancies. While I did take time to heal and recover, I was able to jump back into working out quicker than I anticipated after my daughter was born!

I think the one thing I would tell my former self is that you can’t take care of those around you well unless you prioritize taking care of yourself! “
