Kristy has been a client only since late February. She trains 2x/week in semi-private and 2-3x/week in group training. She’s driven and want to prove herself right. Let’s her story inspire you!
“Before starting HEALTH3 I was struggling to find the motivation to stay consistent and be accountable. I didn’t understand what I needed to do to build my strength, tone and yet continue on my weight loss journey. I felt like I had hit a plateau and was stuck for so long and no matter what I did to gain forward progress, I was failing and becoming discouraged.
Those frustrations were very discouraging. It felt like I was putting in the effort and doing the work. I was getting up and going to the gym, but I know now that I was no where near maximizing my efforts or potential.
The difference about my journey this time is I feel more educated in the process now. I feel like I have a strong support system within the coaches at HEALTH3. I feel like I’m encouraged and pushed to get out of my comfort zone to grab the weight I don’t think I can handle, but I really can. I feel more confident in this next phase of my journey.
Since joining in late February, I’ve definitely seen an increase in strength and movement. I’ve seen the physical changes in the mirror, but I’ve also seen the mental and emotional changes which often are more important. The confidence I’m growing feels amazing. Daily I’m getting up, stepping outside of my comfort zone and remaining consistent with forward progress.
My life is impacted more because I have more energy, I’m more positive and I definitely feel like I’ve become more outgoing. From the person who was nervous about walking through that door the first day and being judged to the person who walks through the door now with her head held high and a smile I would say is a win!
What keeps me coming back is Akeem because he’d be on my behind if I quit lol. But in all seriousness, the results I’ve achieved definitely motivate me to come back. The fact that I physically feel so much stronger and more stable in my movements is a huge motivator. The coaches are a gigantic part of wanting to walk through that door daily. It’s just the right amount of compassion yet constructive motivation that gets you going and makes you want to be the best version of yourself every day.
I’ve went down 1 size in pants and 1 size in shirts since I started 8 weeks ago. I Gained 7.7lbs of muscle, dropped 14.7lbs of fat, Dropped 4.7% in body fat. I was super excited that at testing I deadlifted 150lb for 5 reps. I’ve also been able to do a lunge without looking like a totter like I did on day 1.
If I could go back a year I would tell myself to get uncomfortable, getting uncomfortable allows you to grow. I would tell myself to stop self doubting that it’s not good mentally, emotionally, or physically. I would tell myself that failing is ok and that just because you fail you are not a failure. 1% progress is still progress.”
