This week’s Client Spotlight Saturday is Laura Kuiper! She turned 60 years young this past year and is stronger than she has ever been. Longevity is her focus as she is setting the example for her 3 daughters. Let Laura’s story inspire you!

“I’ve always enjoyed working out, but did it at home while my kids were young. About 5 years ago, I found myself in a very stressful job. Although I was continuing to work out at that time, my physical health was never a priority and my mental health was not good. I decided to retire from that job and focus on getting healthy again. That’s when I started a 12 week FB Challenge. I remember those first few weeks were rough and I could barely do a pushup. I stuck with it and got hooked. I’ve been coming to HEALTH3 ever since.

The biggest physical change I’ve made is my commitment to working out as often as I can each week which probably averages 4 times a week. I’ve made my workouts a priority and the rest of my schedule is often planned around my workouts. My emotional state has also improved. I’ve got my confidence back and it’s very rare when I have a bad day.

Since starting about five years ago, I am 5 pounds lighter, I’ve gained 1.1 pounds of muscle mass and lost 4.8% body fat.

This past year I turned 60.  I’m proud of the fact that I’m still able to keep up with the younger crowd.  My overall strength has improved and I don’t hate conditioning days.

Working out has become a regular habit for me. I always feel a little off if I have to miss a day. I want to maintain my health so that as I continue to age, I will stay fit. I want to be able to enjoy grandkids someday. I’ve also developed friendships at HEALTH3 over the years that are very important to me.

If I could go back in time, I would tell myself that life is too short to be in an unhealthy situation. If you find yourself in a bad situation, make a change. You’re never too old to work on becoming the best version of yourself. Developing the right mindset where you put your physical, mental, and emotional health first is the catalyst for making positive changes.”
