A trend I see with a lot of people, especially on the weekends and during the holidays, is “earning your food”.
Now, if this works for you, that’s great and all the power to you.
But, more times than not, I see this creating a negative relationship with food.
Think about it, you aren’t a dog. You don’t need to earn the vital nutrients that keep you alive.
When I see people who think in this way, it creates a very interesting relationship with food.
Now all you are thinking about is food.
You are exercising so you can eat certain foods.
Everything becomes about food.
And hey, I love food, wine, and beer as much as the next person!
But, I exercise and train to improve my overall health, mind, and body composition.
Not to be able to eat whatever I want on weekends or during the holiday.
Reframe your goals and ensure you are seeing things for the long term sustainability of your health, not just your next meal.
